Central Ridge Elementary School SAEC
The
Dress Code for Central Ridge Elementary School is based on the Citrus
County School Board Dress Code. While the Citrus County School Board
recognizes that fashions and fads come and go, but distinctions still
need to be made as to what is and is not acceptable attire for
educational settings. While some clothing may be acceptable in other
settings, they can be completely unacceptable in a positive educational
setting.
The principal or designee is responsible for interpreting and clarifying the Student Dress Code upon student or parent request. The Principal or Designee have the final authority for interpreting and applying the Student Dress Code.

Students
will dress in attire which does not distract from the learning process
or the educational environment.
Clothing
The following administrative guidelines must be followed by all students when wearing shorts, skirts, and dresses.
- Clothing should cover and conceal all body parts. e.g. midriff, back, shoulders, (2" or wider straps minimum) chest legs to mid-thigh or longer.
- Clothing should cover all undergarments.
- Shorts, Skirts, or pants should be worn at the natural waste line.
- Attire should not be sexually suggestive.
- Attire should not illustrate, enhance, or depict tobacco/alcohol/drugs; nor have offensive, racial, satanic, gang-related, sexual, or violent messages or images.
- Attire should contribute to the health and safety of all students and staff (jewelry, shoes, accessories, hair color, hair styles must be free of conditions that could be considered hazardous or disruptive). ROLLER SHOES (Heelies) are NOT ALLOWED!
- Accessories such as, but not limited too, spiked neck and wristbands, and wallet chains are not permissible.
- Blankets used for jackets and sleepwear (pajamas, house slippers, are not allowed)
- Hats and distracting head covers should not be worn in designated school areas at any time.

- Length of skirt, shorts, and dresses must be mid-thigh or longer when standing.
- Shorts, skirts, and dresses that are too tight or loose will not be permitted. (bicycle shorts, aerobic shorts, etc.)
- Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be hemmed.
- Pants that are too tight, loose, or baggy, or too long will not be permitted.
